Mahomes Record-Setting Game at Texas Tech

Mahomes had one of the most memorable collegiate games of all time against Baker Mayfield and Oklahoma in 2016. He set the FBS record for most yards in a single game with 819. Yes, 819 yards only from Mahomes. He also tied the NCAA record for most passing yards in a game with 734.

These are unreal numbers for a college quarterback. The final score was also ridiculous: 66-59 in favour of Oklahoma. We had to include a highlight video of this game because it will be remembered for a long time.

In his first full season as a starter and only his second year in the league, Mahomes was the MVP and became the new face of the NFL. He not only won MVP, he proved he was the best player in the league with 50 touchdowns and 5000+ yards during the season.

He tied the record for the most touchdowns passes in the team’s first two games with 10, surpassing Drew Brees and Peyton Manning. Although Mahomes didn’t have his best game, he really turned it around when his team needed him the most. He took about 11 steps back and launched the ball about 60 yards to Tyreek Hill to spark the comeback over the 49ers.
