Zion Williamson highlight videos have been going viral since he was in grade 10. We watched them all and picked the five best!

Selected first overall out of Duke by the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2019 NBA Draft, Zion Williamson has the potential to be the next face of the league. His size and athleticism make him one of the most exciting players to watch right now in the NBA.

Before becoming an NBA star, Zion Williamson played for the Spartanburg Griffins in high school where he won three straight state championships and was named All-American. He then took his talents to Duke university, where he won  ACC Player of the Year. Zion also broke the single-game school scoring record as a freshman, scoring 35 points. He played only a year at Duke and then declared for the 2019 NBA Draft.

Best of Zion’s NBA Rookie Season

Zion’s First NBA Game

After a knee injury delayed the start of his first season, Zion Williamson made his highly anticipated NBA debut on January 22, 2020 against the San Antonio Spurs. He scored 22 points in just 18 minutes and went 8-11 for a 72.7% FG%. He is one of only six rookies in NBA history to achieve this in their first game. However, the most incredible stat from the game was Zion scoring 17 consecutive points in the fourth quarter! Check out this video to see all of the highlights from his first game:

Zion’s High School Highlight Reel

Zion’s popularity began growing way back in high school when he played for the Spartanburg Day Griffins in South Carolina. People were raving about his dunks and his vertical leap. But Zion had a lot more to his game than duns. Zion led the Griffins to three straight state titles and also earned the South Carolina Mr. Basketball Award.

Zion was already viewed as a potential number one pick in the NBA and you can see why in this video. It’s insane how good he was at the high school level. This video contains his highlight reel from Spartanburg and if you’re a fan of Zion, this is a must-see!

Zion Williamson comes from a small town in South Carolina called Spartanburg where he lived with his mother and stepfather. They both were college athletes and they helped Zion in his journey to college and NBA.

Zion also has a little brother called Noah who he spends a lot of time with and it’s really cool to see them together. We can sense the bond that they share together and Zion doesn’t let his popularity interfere with his humble beginnings. What is Zion famous for? His stature, his athleticism, his speed. But let’s face it, people watch Pelicans games waiting to see his monster dunks. He did that at Spartanburg, he did that at Duke, and now he’s bringing this aspect of his game to the NBA. Zion Williamson is still very young and will keep improving. He’s already been labelled “the next Lebron James.” His astonishing speed and jumping ability make him very fun to watch and it’s awesome to witness a player his size possess such extreme athleticism.
